About

Celebrating our 32nd year, The Clarion County Sportsmen For Youth, Inc. organization was formed for the sole purpose of introducing local youth to various outdoor activities, and to promote an active outdoor lifestyle.  Each year, since 1992, we have held a one-day program, the Clarion County Youth Field Day, for area kids to try their hands and learn safety measures in activities such as fishing, canoeing, archery, shooting (shotguns and .22 caliber rifles), tree-stand safety, and several others.  The day is offered to all children, free of charge, regardless of race, religion, gender, or disability.  In 2000, the organization incorporated, and has grown exponentially ever since.

For the past several years, Clarion County’s Youth Field Day has involved over 450 participants, and is the biggest and best event of its kind in the state of Pennsylvania.  Parents must register their children online on the specified date and time, and simply mail in supplemental information to complete registration.  In addition to all of the educational and fun activities, each child receives a t-shirt and hat, is served lunch, and goes home with a door prize, which can range anywhere from a backpack to a gun, bow or fishing rod.

In addition to Youth Field Day, the organization supports outdoor youth programs related to hunting, fishing, shooting, ecology, and more. We strive to empower youth engaged in sportsmanship and conservation. In order to perpetuate mentorship beyond the Youth Field Day event, CCSFY has now developed a series of Advanced Education Clinics to expound on topics first introcuced at Youth Field Day. Additionally, CCSFY has established a Stewardship Scholarship to furhter support life-long education and connection to the outdoor experience.

The Clarion County Sportsmen For Youth, Inc. organization, and the Youth Field Day event are both run by a 100% volunteer effort; there are no paid employees or officers.
